Print Artwork Checker (Preflight)

Drop in a customer file to check resolution, effective DPI at your print size and transparency before it hits production.

What to check before printing customer art

  • Effective DPI at the final print size. Aim for 300, and treat anything under 150 as a warning.
  • Transparent background. DTF and DTG files need a real alpha channel, not a white box.
  • Color mode. CMYK or RGB is fine for most DTF and DTG RIPs; screen printing needs separations.
  • Thin lines and small text that won't hold on the chosen method.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if an image is high enough resolution to print?

Divide its pixel width by the print width in inches. At 300 DPI or above it will print sharp; below 150 DPI it will likely look soft or pixelated.
