How file size is estimated
Uncompressed size = width × height × bits per pixel ÷ 8 bytes. A 3000 × 2000 RGB image at 24 bits is about 17 MB. CMYK adds a fourth channel (32 bits), 16-bit editing doubles the size, and layers in a PSD add more. Compression (ZIP/LZW TIFF, PNG) usually shrinks files substantially.
